Tiivistelmä:This paper aims at providing a parallel review of the processes and role of monitoring and regulation of corporate identities (henceforth as: crp-id./crp-ids). Both the communication and the performance measurement (herein as: p-m.) literature are examined. It is questioned: 1. Is it possible to effectively monitor and regulate crp-ids. as a management control process? and 2. What is the relationship btw. crp-id. and p-m.? The balanced scorecard has the potential in playing several roles in monitoring and regulating the key dimensions of crp-ids. The p-m. systems, as self-producing and self-referencing systems, are suggested having the potential to become both organic and powerful as organizational symbols and communication tools. This paper aims at the theoretical and practical fusion of disciplinary knowledge around crp-ids. and p-m. systems, potentially making a significant contribution to understanding, shaping and managing organizational identities.
