Tiivistelmä:With firms seeking to create strategic advantages, integrated supply chains (hereafter as: s-chns.) are becoming a critical part of the competitive landscape. In response to customer and shareholder concerns for corporate social responsibility (CSR), many buying firms are implementing programs within their s-chns. An important aspect of implementing such s-chns. CSR initiatives involves achieving supplier compliance. It is argued that higher levels of monitoring will not necessarily increase compliance, possibly even damaging buyer-supplier relationships. As an alternative, it is suggested that a CSR implementation regime characterized by procedural justice rather than by greater monitoring is more likely to increase supplier compliance etc.
