| Tiivistelmä: | The situation of the research and development institutes in the Commonwealth of the Independent States is examined. These institutes, that were financed very generously by the socialist state in the past, are now in shortage of money and are forced so to sell high technology at discount prices. The unique opportunity is recognized and used by mainly American corporations. The troublesome situation of the Russian and other high tech research firms leads to very close contacts with the West.The most renowned and successful researches and some major businesses with Western corporations are described in the article. |
