| Tiivistelmä: | Since 1992 the DIW, the IfV and the IWH have reported biannually on the economic situation in Russia. In their last report in the spring of 1996 the Institutes noted that the initial successes achieved in monetary and fiscal stabilisation had not yet made their mark on the real economy. In particular the Institutes drew attention to the serious weakness of investment, ascribing this weakness to fundamental failings on the part of economic policy. At the political level, the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the presidential elections caused economic policy decisions to be postponed further. |
