| Tiivistelmä: | After Estonia regained its independence in 1991, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, a crucial aspect of Estonia's transition to a market economy concerns the participation of the Russian minority in the privatisation process. This article focuses on the changes in the legal status of Estonia's Russian minority as a result of Estonia's privatisation legislation during the period 1989-95. As used here, the term "privatisation" is to be understood in the broadest possible meaning: privatisation comprises both the transfer of state (collective property) and the establishment of a new private sector. |
