| Tiivistelmä: | To revitalise their health services, governments in the former socialist states of Central and Eastern Europe are experimenting with a new wonder drug called market mechanisms. This is rather like the doctor who gives penicillin to a patient who has known allergy to to it but will die without it. It is necessary to understand the associated dangers so that appropriate measures may be taken to prevent the treatment from killing the patient. |
