| Tiivistelmä: | During the past few years, and particularly after the August 1998 financial crisis, there have been many discussions on the issue of the nature and strategy of the Russian reform. While opponents of the reform blame President Eltsin and his consequtive governments for mismanagement of the economy, reformists say that reforms have already brought spectacular results. In the aftermath of the August crisis purely economic debates gave way to acute political clashes. |
