| Tiivistelmä: | A metamodel, derived from the strategic management literature, provided a framework for an empirical analysis of the globalisation potential of the Russian oil industry and the implications for the international oil industry. A series of interviews were undertaken with senior representatives of Russian and Western oil companies and experts in the field, on the basis of which it was concluded that, despite historical and administrative constraints, there are strong drivers for Russian oil companies to compete globally with the Western oil majors, thereby affecting the international oil game. |
