Tiivistelmä:In this paper adaptations in Russian consumer behaviour to market capitalism are examined. The paper concentrates on the formation of consumer identities, popular mobilization inspired by them and the impact of citizen mobilization on Russian politics and society. Results show that consumer concerns are serving as a vehicle for public mobilization in areas that are significant to Russia's lengthy problems.
