Tiivistelmä:A concise account of key theories of human behavior is presented to provide managers and management development specialist with sufficient content material which helps them in systematic analysis of life situations. Typical errors that may be connected with a theory and its applications. Existing theories are classified in the following way: 1. content/need theories (theories of Maslow, McClelland, McGregor, Herzberg, Alderfer), 2. cognitive /process theories (expectancy, equity, dissonance and attribution theory), 3. reinforcement theories (B. F. Skinner and other reinforcement theorists). There are two integrative models that now deserve attention: the Porter-Lawler model and the Hackman-Oldham model.
