| Tiivistelmä: | After analyzing the current situation and problems of construction of small towns in Shanghai suburbs as well as reasons for their behindhand development, it is pointed out that the developmental pattern of small towns in Shanghai suburbs will be diversified. Recommendations are as follows: to correctly define the functions of the small towns and rationally adjust their distribution; to reform regulations on household register management as well as land utilization; to change the way of city and township construction, and establish pluralistic investment mechanism; to reform and optimize the social security system of cities and towns. |
