| Tiivistelmä: | This paper focuses on the pass-through (hereafter as: p-thr.) of exchange rate (here as: rt./rts.) changes into the prices of imports made by euro area countries (here as: ctrs.) originating outside the area. Industry-specific rts. of p-thr. across and within ctrs. for all euro members are estimated using data on import unit values for 13 different product categories for each country. In the short-run, p-thr. rts. differ across industries (here as: inds.) and ctrs. and are less than one. In the long-run, neither full p-thr. nor equality of p-thr. rts. across inds. and ctrs. can be rejected. Differences exist across euro area ctrs. |
