| Tiivistelmä: | There is growing need to manage relations between a population of organizations and the broader social context in which they are located. The problems of developing collective strategy for collective action are analyzed. The literature on collective strategy is reviewed. A typology of collective is strategy presented. It is proposed that collective action is a necessary response to environmental turbulence, which presents both opportunities and threats, and demands operational and output adaptations. The solution of crucial tasks and specific modes of interorganizational coordination are needed to do this. The hypotheses are illustrated by four cases observed in the UK telecommunication industry. |
