| Tiivistelmä: | The article presents a review of the methods of the science networks and applies that to tourism studies. Computational techniques and basic definitions are presented, and a case study of Elba, Italy, is conducted to illustrate the influence of network typology on information diffusion. Stakeholder interviews and website link analysis are used for deriving a static structural characterization of the network formed by destination stakeholders. This is followed by a dynamic analysis of the information diffusion process within the case study destination demonstrating that stakeholder cohesion and adaptive capacity have a positive influence on information diffusion. |
