| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this article is to examine equal opportunity practices within the US police and to show how some of the new methods could be adapted not only in the British police forces but in other organisations, too. The author argues that the use of assessment centres in the promotion process together with the use of external assessors could bring about further progress. |
