| Tiivistelmä: | A recent paper considered maximizing the probability of achieving a profit target in a two-product newsboy problem. Numerical solutions to the problem highlighted some interesting properties, but analytical explanations were missing. The present paper gives an analytical solution to the problem for the special case of uniformly distributed demand. The analytical structure guaranties the correctness of the results and makes them transparent. |
