| Tiivistelmä: | Based on statistical evidence, the top 500 multinational enterprises (MNEs) are predominantly home-region-bound or bi-regional. MNE operations of the emerging economies have not been comprehensively analysed. This study explores the MNE operations from four leading emerging economies, that is, Brazil, China, India, and Russia (or BRIC). Since aggregated FDI data may lack transparency because of off-shore tax havens, this supplements it by examining 1430 mergers and acquisitions (M&As) performed by MNEs from BRIC economies from 2000 to 2007. In addition, insights are developed into their dispersion pattern across five industry sectors in six geographical regions. |
