| Tiivistelmä: | Critics of hierarchical organization often overlook the fact that standard hierarchical patterns generally accepted may considerably differ both formally and with regard to content. The decentralized hierarchy cannot be attributed with the characteristics implied by its critics when they refer to "the" hierarchy - its inflexibility, for example. It can be shown empirically that the centralized hierarchical model, which has been and remains the main target of critics, is becoming more and more insignificant. This is one of the results emerging from a systematic evaluation of the management profiles published in the journal. |
