| Tiivistelmä: | The shareholder-value-concept can be understood as a request to the company s board to adjust their strategic decisions to the shareholder's interests , and thus it does not contradict German company law. As companies globally compete for risk capital, they need to be attractive for international investors. A shareholder-value orientation turns out to be problematic, if strategies designed to increase shareholder wealth neglect social aspects as the preservation of existing jobs. Social responsibility as well as the balance of interests should keep a company's board to such strategic decisions, which attract international investors despite the legal conditions in this country. |
