| Tiivistelmä: | At the end of August, Nissan's plant in Switzerland was declared the most efficient in Europe, producing three times as many cars as the Rover plant in the same town, and more than plants in any other part of the world bar Japan. The debt that Britain owes to the Japanese is enormous. Phrases such as "total quality management" and "just-in- time" have slipped into our management vocabulary, needing little explanation. A recent survey by the London School of Economics suggests that British employees working for a Japanese company make far fewer mistakes than their UK-employed counterparts. |
