WHen the world's corporate and political elite gathered in the Swiss ski resort of Davos at the end of January to debate the burning social and political agendas of the hour, it would have been difficult to overestimate the group's collective influence -- the delegates' corporate assets, for example, are worth $4 trillion. Half the world's chief executives believe that the internet will actually widen the gap between developing and developed nations. |
