| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses Chinese firms and their ownership types. It is argued that ownership type can be an significant variable that managers use to cognitively categorize firms into different strategic groups. The findings suggest that state-owned enterprises and privately-owned enterprises tend to adopt defender and prospector strategies, whereas collectively-owned and foreign-invested enterprises exhibit an analyser orientation that falls between defenders and prospectors on the strategy continuum. |
