| Tiivistelmä: | It is argued in this article that medical expertise was "hybridised" in Finland in the beginning of the 1990s. The willing adoption of management accounting techniques by medical professionals is examined in the context of the New Public Management reforms in Finland. The process of adoption is documented, some of its effects for the set of practices and legitimated competencies that make up the domain of medical expertise are charted and these are sought to be understood by reference to the position of management accounting within the Finnish pedagogic and institutional setting. |
