| Tiivistelmä: | The drive for total quality control has enhanced the interest for performance indicators used to monitor the result of actions for improvement in many companies. Nowadays they are used as a systematic tool to foster "continuous improvement". It is briefly described how useful performance indicators are, what can be done with them, how they should be employed and what pitfalls have to be avoided during implementation. As such, a quick overview of the subject is presented. Conclusions and recommendations are also given. |
