| Tiivistelmä: | The incentives of a divisional manager who has asymmetric access to information on a new cost reducing technology are considered. A general model of the problem is presented, then a process of decentralization is modelled. It is shown that the information that would be sufficient to guide the central headquarters to identify optimal decisions may not be forthcoming. |
