Tiivistelmä:This article reports on simulation study which explored the cultural influences on project teams and the knowledge sharing (hereafter as KS) behavior of team members. The findings reveal that different cultural backgrounds (e.g. gender, ethnicities and national culture) of team members might have a negative effect on KS and might lead to negative stereotyping. Successful KS is possible if new project members are considered valuable for the common task. The authors offer guidelines for project management in team working situations of cultural complexity.
