| Tiivistelmä: | The subjects of the article are environmental protection and Government policy in European Union countries, climatic changes and coal trade in European Union countries. The article discusses the developments in the environmental efforts of European Union countries in 2001. It provides an outcome of the convention on climate change in Marrakesh, Morroco in November. The author pays an attention to the adoption of measures to counter climate change and provides an overview of the proposed regulation on state aid for the coal industry. The paper also states that environment committee wants stricter control of noise and is helped and hindered by external events. |
