Tiivistelmä:The relationships between cultural values of the members of an R&D organization and the work culture are investigated. The impacts have been classified as energy-consuming or energy-generating.It was postulated that scientists could be divided into four, culturally different groups: the moralistic, those who consider sticking to the right procedure more important than the immediate practical value of the results they might obtain; the pragmatic who give priority to results; the affective who enjoy doing R&D; and the mixed who have no consistent orientation. Data from a questionnaire point to nearly two-thirds of the sample being moralistically motivated.
