| Tiivistelmä: | Too often treated as uniform, strategic alliances can be split into three different categories: additive alliances , complementary alliances and mutual integration alliances. The typology developed is based on the configuration of the alliance and the division of tasks among the different partners. A theoretical foundation is provided as an aid to the analysis. Empirical evidence is also presented to show the benefits and losses of strategic alliances. The characteristics of management of strategic alliances are examined. Some of the structural and dynamic properties of strategic alliances are also considered. |
