Tiivistelmä:By the end of 1997, the per capita GDP of Shanghai will possibly reach US$ 3,000, which is the important stage symbol of economic development in Shanghai. According to 1996's "Report on World Development", the per capita GDP of US$ 3,000 is a dividing line for dividing nations into groups statistically. It means that Shanghai will enter the development stage of "upper-middle income". The results of comprehensive studies of 133 countries and regions in the world show that the economy at the stage of per capita US$ 3000 has seven features. Among them there are downward index of export concentration degree, upward average annual growth rate of labor force higher per capita consumption of energy and the highest level of average growth rate of export.
