| Tiivistelmä: | In September 1991, The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), a global coalition of chief executives from all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, established the World Travel & Tourism Environment Research Centre (WTTERC). This centre aimed to bring together the elements needed to provide good environmental practice in the travel and tourism industry and to provide a catalyst for responsible tourism policies. The author describes its objectives , programmes and future plans. |
