| Tiivistelmä: | Jarring contrasts abound in today's imperfect world, making even confirmed optimists wary. Seen as challenges rather that obstacles, however, disparities can be reduced. Done successfully, a reasonably sanguine outlook can be justified. The present situation is often described in terms of "gaps". The "wage gap", for example, usually implies inequity in male versus female compensation. A perceived "gender gap" is more inclusive. |
