| Tiivistelmä: | There is increasing evidence that consumer spending growth is slowing down , much as was predicted in the last Economic Review. There is now the additional danger for the consumer spending outlook that higher interest rates will compound the impact of higher taxes. In this review the authors consider whether consumer spending is set to slow down dramatically over the next 18 months. The conclusion is that a slowing of growth is unlikely to turn into another full-blown consumer recession. |
