| Tiivistelmä: | The heart of the matter is how one construes the notion of relevance of research. Hirschheim, Klein and Lyytinen never make their criteria for relevance explicit. Implicitly, they seem to argue that, given their matrix for classifying ISD research, the criteria is one where clustering of contributions should be minimized. The authors of this article have serious problems accepting it. To explain why, they first discuss the notion of whet constitutes relevance for research in this domain. They argue that the relevance of ISD research is intrinsically connected to influencing the practice of ISD. |
