| Tiivistelmä: | Affirming that for the first time in 500 years Europeans have the chance to reconcile their continent with itself, the European Commission has unveiled its "Agenda2000", which sets out a comprehensive strategy for bringing the ten central and east European countries (CEECs) into the EU early in the 21st century. Basically a working programme for the Union through 2006, the 1, 300-page document incorporates not only the Commission's opinions on the membership applications of the CEECs, but also a proposed financial framework. |
