Tiivistelmä:This is a report on the market for men's outerwear. This report analyses the market for trousers. by consumers' own definitions trousers fall into two categories: formal and casual. The distinction is somewhat blurred in what in any case is a market characterised by casual dressing. At the present time wool and wool mixtures have become secondary fabrics. In the 1996 the market for men's trousers was forth 703 mn pounds at retail prices, which represents a significant upturn in the market following a severe decline from 1990 to 1995. However, trousers are continuing to lose share of the men's outwear market while the share of jeans increases.
