| Tiivistelmä: | For a long time the rate of restructuring the Lithuanian economy was a shade less intense than in the other Baltic States: Estonia and Latvia. Signals, starting to pour in from Lithuania at the end 1997 until the beginning 1998 turned out surprisingly positive, contravening the pattern of opinion the analysts had evolved. It seemed Lithuania had managed to get its economy going, at long last. There are of course some analysts that take a more critical stance regarding the Lithuanian miracle, predicting it to be short-lived. |
