| Tiivistelmä: | The basic concepts of Islamic economics are outlined and it is argued that Islamic economics has the potential to solve some serious economic problems, and that this potential would lead the world to benefit from it in the future. The Islamic worldview and the economic objectives of the Islam are described. The major economic institutions of the Islam are outlined as they exist today. The problems and challenges of these institutions are enumerated. Islamic economics as yet has not developed a body of theoretical doctrine; however, the author argues that the immediate concern of the Muslim economists should be to show the world that Islamic economics can present acceptable solutions to contemporary world economic problems. |
