| Tiivistelmä: | If we want to keep pace with the high-tech products on the world market, we cannot afford to draw a line between the universities and the economy anymore. The Federal German state of Baden-Württemberg shows in an exemplary manner how it is possible to achieve fruitful cooperation in the field of research, e.g. with 82 centres for the transfer of technology, transfer sections at technical colleges and universities, as well as with ten technology centres. Further original facilities for cooperation are provided in the form of external universitarian research institutes at the universities and the "Scientific City 2000" in Ulm. The growing need for highly qualified professional manpower is emphasized. |
