| Tiivistelmä: | The impact of income transfer between consumers of a monopoly is discussed. In this context, income redistribution could induce an increase of the demand elasticity which leads to a lower monopoly price, beneficial to any consumer. Under mild assumptions on the demand function, the existence of a transfer is proven to maximize the market coverage which remains advantageous for any contributing consumer. Also the producer is proved to be better off. |
