Tiivistelmä:There is a startling change taking place in the way wholesalers and retailers try to get their products in the hands of consumers. Some call it "target marketing", others "database marketing" or "marketing by taste". Manufacturers and outlets now want to target customers directly, and lock them into consistent buying patterns. The only way to do this successfully is to know everything possible about customers. Databases are set up that would be available to anyone who uses an Apple computer. There are several issues concerning privacy, but it is a problem of target marketing. These privacy problems are discussed in detail, through several concrete case stories.
