| Tiivistelmä: | Perhaps no other police force in the world is as well-known as the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Amid all the recent turmoil from high profile cases, one thing is clear. Today, the LAPD is trying to reinvent and refashion itself to boldly march into new territory. The department has stepped up recruiting, tightened hiring practices and provided more training for officers. It is working to become less tolerant of racism and sexism, and it is attempting to boost moral and stem a haemorrhage of officers fleeing the force. |
