| Tiivistelmä: | The paper examines earnings effects of job displacement for 1979-1983. The analysis is based on the classical earnings function. It turns out that earnings losses were experienced by employees who could not transfer their investment into human capital, and who lost their seniority rights: mainly elder and unskilled employees. By contrast employees with a completed vocational training or professionals could gain by leaving a firm. |
