| Tiivistelmä: | In 1995, the whole country's export value reached US$ 148.8 billion, up 22.9% over last year. But entering 1996, it began to fall totally and fell by 8.2% in the first half of the year. Although there was a rising momentum in July and Aug. the accumulated export volume from Jan to Aug. still decreased 4.2%. State-owned foreign trade enterprises are facing grim situation. Only by deepening reform, can they extricate themselves from a predicament. To do so, they should shift from extensive business to intensive and efficiency-oriented business, and from the traditional purchase system to agent system of foreign trade. |
