| Tiivistelmä: | In terms of policy, two important policies promulgated in China in 1997, which include one of allowing Chinese-funded enterprises to reserve a certain amount of foreign exchange income for creating an environment for fair competition and one of reducing import tariff rate by a wide margin in order to raise the quality and grade of China's products will exert influence on foreign trade development in 1998. In terms of market environment, the RMB exchange rate in 1998 will rise admits stability. The general trade import will increase moderately. In terms of growth rate, the import of state-owned foreign trade enterprises would speed up while their export slow down. The export of machinery and electronic products will grow rapidly but that of textiles products would not grow too rapidly. The import of raw materials and equipment will continue to grow. |
