Tiivistelmä:An empirical study of the reframing (hereafter as: rfrmg.) of accounts of responsibility (here as: resp.) for strategy (as: str.) is presented. It is found that top management (as: mgmt.) ambivalence about str. provided a middle mgmt. team with wide scope for interpretation of resp. for developing and implementing a str. initiative. It is shown that rfrmg. from initial duty to capability to later accountability shaped and reflected actors' changing goals. By focusing on resp. understanding of the division of labour in the actual practice of strategizing is increased. It is also shown how protagonists' goals drive the framing and rfrmg. of str. agendas, and how linguistic devices influence this process.
