Tiivistelmä: | Success of all casinos is related critically with profits generated from slot operations. In this study, the relationship btw. a reel slot player's time on device (here as: t-on-dvc.) and the pay table's coefficient of variation (CV) is examined through computer simulation. It is found that the pay table CV is inversely related to the player's expected t-on-dvc., as measured by pulls per losing player (PPLP). Findings disprove the popular notion that par alone (i.e. house advantage) serves as a legitimate proxy for play time and support the research suggesting that standard deviation is the dominant force behind t-on-dvc., at the single-trip grain. |
