| Tiivistelmä: | Despite the recent financial crisis, Malaysia remains a development success story. The purpose of this paper is to examine Malaysian development experience in historical perspective with emphasis on the nature of policy choices in the context of the rapid internationalisation of the world economy. Section 2 surveys Malaysian economic policy since independence, in order to place the ensuing discussion in context and to delineate the key policy shifts as guidance for the study. Overall growth trends are surveyed. |
