Tiivistelmä: | The problems of employees' autonomy is discussed. Some opinions are set forth on the possibilities and boundaries of employees' autonomy based on interview materials. The ways of affording, demanding, supporting, and allowing to develop autonomy are examined. Trust and control as managerial tools are compared. The employees' claim to being controlled is assessed. A number of managerial suppositions regarding the employees' characteristics are mentioned and analyzed. Some extreme concepts on employees' needs, desires, ambition drafted. Some opportunities and risks subordinates' growing autonomy are mentioned. The necessity of co-operative style of leadership is emphasized. |
