| Tiivistelmä: | The question of interest is straightforward enough: "what has been the (specific) impact of the internal market programme (IMP) on the level and pattern of extra and intra-foreign direct investment in the EC?" The answer is much more complicated and, even if all the data were available, it would be conditional on the kind of fdi being discussed, particular country and industry specific factors, how one measures the IMP effect, and what assumptions one makes about what would have happened in the absence of the IMP. |
